California’s emergency water conservation mandate went into effect Monday, June 1 and San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer and other mayors in the region gathered at The Water Conservation Garden to urge the public to take the mandate seriously.
Residents have fallen far short of voluntary conservation targets set before Gov. Jerry Brown’s April 1 have not been met, so a mandate of an average 25 percent reduction in urban potable water use has been imposed on water districts. See the full story at The San Diego Union Tribune.
