IRWM Project Coordinator
Lauren Gagliano Saline serves as Project Coordinator for the state-funded Integrated Regional Water Management program at The Water Conservation Garden. Lauren is responsible for submitting accurate and timely reports to grant administrators and managing the timelines and budgets for the program’s six different projects. IRWM-funded projects include: Ms. Smarty-Plants™ education and outreach, construction of The Garden’s new classroom, installation of a new irrigation demonstration exhibit, and an off-site landscaping transformation at a housing complex in one of San Diego’s underserved communities.
Prior to joining The Garden in 2017, Lauren spent 6 years running a variety of programs at Suzie’s Farm, an organic family farm in southern San Diego. As Director of Programs, Lauren and her staff attended weekly Farmers’ Markets, conducted educational tours, and organized farm events both private and public. Lauren holds a BA in Visual & Communication Arts from dually accredited Franklin University Switzerland and earned a certificate in Permaculture Design in 2015. As a dynamic leader and inclusive communicator, Lauren puts her organization and project management skills to use in her role at The Garden. She has always had a passion for connecting people, plants, and the planet and runs a landscape design business with her husband Eric. In her free time, Lauren loves cooking, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
