3rd and 4th Grade, Changing Environments-Plant Adaptations brings to focus a plant’s ability to survive in San Diego’s climate. During live instruction and a virtual tour of The Water Conservation Garden, Ms. Smarty-Plants™ shows marvelous examples of plant adaptations. They will learn the 3 types of adaptations: Behavioral, Structural and Physiological. Students will engage in breakout groups to discuss the topic. In an interactive post-activity called “Create Your Own Plant”, students will choose from a variety of plant adaptations to create and draw their own plant suited for San Diego’s semi-arid Mediterranean climate. Students will gain a greater appreciation for the interdependent nature of plants and the environment.

After you book your program, you will receive an automated email with password protected access to all our course material PDFs and the Ms. Smarty-Plants™ videos!
