Helix Water Community Meeting-East County AWP

Join us on September 1 or October 22 at the Water Conservation Garden for a presentation on East County Advanced Water Purification, a new, drought-proof water supply for East County. Helix Water will explain how it works and take a close look at the quality of this water. Bring your questions, because we're bringing Helix's General Manager Brian Olney and Director of Water Quality and System Operations Luis Valdez to answer them.

East County Advanced Water Purification will come online in 2027, using the same technologies as similar facilities in Orange and Los Angeles counties to treat recycled water to drinking water standards. Once complete, this water will provide up to 30% of our needs and will be the first new water source to arrive at our treatment plant in 50 years.

6:30 – 7 p.m.: Q&A with staff, so bring your questions and ask away.

Meetings will be indoors and seating is limited. If reservations exceed seating, we'll schedule additional meetings.
